We at TopNotes try our best to look after our TopNotes family which not only includes students, parents and teachers but also our instruments 🥰
Our in-house Piano Tuner will come to you and your instruments for check-ups and repairs.
Piano tuning costs are broken as follows:
Please note: travel costs may vary slightly based on your location.
If your piano has not been tuned in some time it is entirely likely that your piano will need be to be tuned twice. After the first tuning of a long untuned piano the strings of the piano "go back" to how they were and a second tuning is definitely recommended.
If a piano has gone five or ten years without being tuned, then tuning it once won't be enough. Pianos get set in their ways as they age. A piano that hasn't been tuned in a long time will go out of tune again very quickly.
If the piano cannot be repaired (or the repair costs exceed the value of the piano), which we hope/assume is not the case, we charge €50 for the visit.
This is really only the case with very old and broken pianos that have been sitting around unused for many years.
Pianos are like most things in life; they need love and attention.
Pianos need to be tuned for many reasons and ideally should be done at least once a year. (Don't take our word for it, check for yourself). The more they are looked after the cheaper it is in the long run. A lot like a car or the human body.
Pianos also need to be tuned after moving because of shifts in humidity. Anytime a piano is moved into storage, or another room, changes in the environment will affect the tune. Pianos that are shaken around during a move may also go out of tune due to shifting parts.
For this reason we offer a really simple yearly service:
+ €16 - Standard Travel Cost
+ €16 - Standard Travel Cost
+ €16 - Standard Travel Cost
Travel costs may vary slightly based on your location.
Excuse me? 4 tunings in a year? seriously?
Yes, seasons change! The better care you provide your piano the better it will care for you.
Please note: pianos that have genuinely spent five or ten years without being tuned will really need to first be tuned twice. Tuning it once really won't be enough. Sorry :-(
