Quick OVERVIEW:

Our Teachers

Our Teachers

Our Teachers

Our teachers are professional musicians with knowledge in both teaching and performing with a band. They have extensive experience in the art of teaching and working in a group. Once a group is fixed for the semester, the management and the teacher will organise an ideal course depending on the amount of students in the class. If the class is full, the teacher can have an assistant or even divide the class into two days.

Band for beginners

Being a part of a small band project at a young age is fantastic experience.

This is the most active after school program that TopNotes offers.

It's a great opportunity for our young students to have the feeling of “rocking” with other children. Children don't necessarily need to have played any instruments, although if they have, it will be very helpful.

To understand and feel in an active and participative way, the following elements:

  • Learn to listen

Band for advanced students

(ages 11 - 16)

This is a great opportunity for young students with previous experience with an instrument to be part of a band.

It's very common to learn an instrument at home with a private teacher without never really having the opportunity to play with other musicians. It's a very different learning process and is equally as important as playing alone.

Musical goals:
To understand and feel in an active and participative way, the following elements:

  • Learn to listen
  • Dynamics
  • Different rhythms
  • Jamming in a groove
  • Try out different instruments
  • Learn tricks in performance
  • Communication
  • Learn to read chords and playing in different shapes and octaves
